Our Story
My name is Kris Lefeber and I have created Janit to help commercial cleaning companies. In 2019 I was discussing with a family member who runs a Wisconsin based cleaning company about some of the issues they were facing. With over 20 years in the industry, they were frustrated by the lack of software tools built specifically for their business. While generic software existed, no one seemed to have tools geared towards the commercial cleaning industry.
It started as a simple job notes app that allowed them to enter in step-by-step instructions on how to clean at each location. Soon, there was a desire to fix their aging timekeeping software. We built in a way to use on-location phones to allow employees to track their time, which added peace of mind that the employee is on location. This additional data allowed supervisors to see in real time the status of jobs, making sure no jobs were missed. We then added tools to support their supervisors as they navigate from location to location.
After all these features and the success the business was seeing, it was time to share it with other cleaning companies. Janit is the next evolution and is just getting started. With our findings over the last five years, we have built from the ground up a new and improved software platform for commercial cleaners, expanding beyond our initial features.
